Google Authenticator as the name suggests is an application developed by Google LLC. This application adds extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in with your Google email accounts or address.

Google Authenticator makes it difficult for intruders to steal your valuable content online. This means that in addition to your provided password, you the user or intruder also needs to enter a code that is generated by Google Authenticator on your phone.

The codes can be generated by the Authenticator app on your phone even if you don't have a network or mobile connection. 

This is great news since most apps rely on the internet to work or function.

It is only available on the Phone, Tablet, Watch, Chromebook and TV.

GAT needs your camera permission to add accounts using QR Codes.
